Alex: "I don't mind wearing this outfit anymore mom, I think it makes me look good. I think I'll wear this shirt to school tomorrow in fact."

Mom: "Just make sure to smile really big okay?"

Alex: "Like this?" --does some weird slanted crossed eyed grin

Mom: "Only if you want to be grounded for a month!"

Sieauna: "No Alex, like this." Flashes this totally sweet and innocent (fake) smile

Mom: "Just be good you two, no funny faces!"

We shall see.

Sourdough Diva

While making some yummy sourdough buttermilk pancakes this morning, Justin came up with an idea. "You should start a blog about your sourdough recipes! You could call it, Sourdough Diva!" So, with the idea, and encouragement of my husband, I have started up a new blog. Come see what it takes to be a Sourdough Diva!

I have been told I have a knack with Justin's grandfathers sourdough starter, so I have decided to post my recipes, ideas, pictures, success and failures. Just something new to take up even more of my time! Anyway, come see and let me know what you think!

First Official Bar-B-Que Of The Season.

Last night we had our first official bar-b-que of the season. One of the reasons we bought this house is because of it's yard and entertainment value. We love to entertain and have people over. Yesterday the weather was just too nice not to pass up the opportunity to do just that. Justin suggested pizzas on the Green Egg, I suggested a pizza bar! Everyone got to create their own pizzas and Justin cooked them on the Egg. So fun! Everyone had a blast and I am looking forward to a great week of sunshine.

My Sister-In-Law ROCKS!

Amber (aka sis-in-law extraordinaire) made me a batch of our favorite, Sieauna safe, Monster cookies! She won't give out the secret recipe, but as long as I get to participate, I don't care! Love you Amber-thanks again for the special treat. We love you!!

Half Marathon? Mark It Off The Bucket List!

We did it! Justin and I ran the Salt Lake half marathon today. We did awesome! My goal was 2 & 1/2 hours. As I came around the last little bit, I looked to the finish line and it said 2:29:38. CRAP! I had 20 seconds to get to the finish line. I booked it. Full speed (11.80 miles per hour) and made it in 2:29:58. Made it with two seconds to go! Justin, who hadn't ran since February 27Th, decided 10 minutes before the run that he was going to do it. He DID IT! He ran it in 2:42:34. Amazing. I am so dang proud of him. I am amazed by him. He is my hero...although it kind of sucks that I had to train 3 months while he didn't, but still he's awesome! I will post "actual times" and "actual pictures" later, but here are a few to hold you over. Thanks for all the support!

Crazy Hair Day!

The kids had crazy hair day at school today. Alex was against it until I gave him $.50 for a little motivation. Then he was all happy to sport the spikes. Hope they have a fun day..

Perfect For Me

I got to spend a wonderful afternoon with my friend Kristin, who came in town from South Carolina. She went with me to the Quality of Life Health Expo to pick up my race pack. Then we had lunch at Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta (our old favorite)! She bought me this awesome birthday present. How perfect for me! It has my name on it, and it says "Wine Princess". It also says "Hear Ye! Hear Ye! I'd like another ROYAL GLASS of wine". And it says "Heiress to the WINE!". So cute. It is all hand painted. She knows me tooooo well. Thanks Kris! I had a great time today. And thanks for all the cute clothes for Sieauna!

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful time at Grandma and Grandpa Young's house this Easter. The kids had an egg hunt, food was amazing and the Masters Game...wow, double sudden death. It was a relaxing, fun filled day and a great time to remember the season and what it really means.

I'm SO not ready.

This weekend we took a little family trip over to DSW to find us some shoes. We were looking at shoes in the clearance section when Sieauna comes around the corner wearing these black patent 2 inch high heel beauties. No, I am not kidding! The problem is that she "LOVES them AND they fit!" Ladies size 5. She begs me to get them. I, being the soft, sweet, reasonable mom, yell at her and told her to "Get those things off and don't put them back on until you are at least 16!" She walked away, perfectly, to go sulk in the corner, swagging her hips in this perfect little motion while doing the model walk crossover. Man, I needed a year of training to master that walk, but this girl has it ALL to naturally.

I look over to Justin for some parental support, and he's just standing their grinning. Until I gently reminded him that he would be answering the door when the boys come-a-knockin.

Thank heavens I have a little boy, at least he will always love his momma even if he's addicted to hot blue converse. LORD HELP ME!
